One of my sellers called me the other day and told me that his lender wanted to "re-work" his loan and "modify" it for him. It should be noted that he has not missed any payments nor has he been late on any of his payments. It should also be noted that he is in an adjustable rate interest only mortgage that resets every few months. So his lender says for him not to worry, it is not going to cost him anything and they are going to reduce what he owes and also reduce his payments. But when he asked if it was going to hurt his credit they wouldn't give him a straight answer!
